It is with great pleasure that we invite our colleagues and collaborators throughout the world to Brisbane, Australia for XXVI Congress of the International Society of Biomechanics 2017 (ISB 2017).

The vibrant city of Brisbane and the adjoining Gold and Sunshine Coasts are rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage and offer adventure, fun and entertainment for all ages. For those with time for pre-or-post Congress exploring, Brisbane is the gateway to iconic travel locations including Uluru, the Great Barrier Reef and Kakadu.

So please reserve the dates of 23 – 27 July, 2017 in your calendar. On behalf of the Organising Committee, we encourage our global colleagues to join us, to participate and to experience our unique Australian hospitality. Your journey to Australia will be more than worthwhile professionally and personally.

ISB 2017 Venue

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre

ISB2017 will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Australia's most awarded convention centre, and recent host of the G20. Located in Brisbane's cultural precinct, Southbank, delegates will be on the doorstep of the Gallery of Modern Art, State Library, Queensland Art Gallery and numerous award-winning restaurants aligning the river bank.


Koala Challenge

In the lead up to ISB 2017 the organising committee and its ambassadors will be distributing koalas worldwide.

Where are all the koalas going? We would like to find out...

Email your image of the ISB 2017 Koala Mascot, to and go into the draw to win a complimentary full delegate registration including the Congress dinner and five night's accommodation at a fabulous Congress hotel NEXT.

Total prize value $3,000.

To enter simply photograph your koala (pictured here) in a fun, creative or exotic/interesting location and email it together with the following details by 31 March 2017.

Each entry must include:

  • A photograph
  • Name of the location
  • Brief caption, and
  • Name, address, phone number and email address of entrant (you can do this by registering your expression of interest).
