Happy Holidays!

With the holiday season fast approaching we take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and enjoyable festive season.

Here are 5 things we in Australia typically enjoy and do during the festive Season.

  1. Enjoy the sunshine and hot weather – usually at the beach
  2. Christmas Lunch – usually featuring cold meats & seafood
  3. Boxing day beach or backyard cricket
  4. New Year’s Eve fireworks spectacular!
  5. New year’s day BBQ in the park

Whatever you and your loved ones are doing throughout the festive period, we would like to wish everyone a very happy end to 2016 and a successful new year.

Expression of Interest for Thematic Sessions & Workshops - now open!

The Program Committee invites teams of organisers to submit expressions of interest (EOI) to run Thematic Sessions or Workshops within the program of ISB 2017.

EOIs are to be sent directly to the ISB2017 Program Committee at by 30 December 2016.

Thematic Session or Workshop organisers will be notified by 7 January 2017 of acceptance of their expressions of interest.

Call for Abstracts

Submit your Abstracts

The Program Committee invites authors to submit abstracts for presentation within the program of ISB 2017. Submissions are sought for oral and poster presentations and can be made via the Abstract Submission Portal.

The ISB2017 Congress is a world forum that covers all aspects of traditional biomechanics, including the areas of cellular biomechanics and mechanobiology through to wearable technologies, neurorehabilitation and human movement. As such the Congress will encompass all areas where mechanics relates to the human body for the improvement of the quality of life and physical well-being.

All abstracts must follow the abstract template and be submitted online by 13 January 2017. Please note that the closing date for abstract submissions will not be extended.

The registration fee is all encompassing and includes catering across the duration of the ISB 2017 Congress, together with attendance at the social functions.

  • Ticket to the Welcome Reception
  • Ticket to the Congress Banquet
  • Approved delegate materials
  • Morning tea and afternoon tea daily

Not a member of ISB yet? We encourage to consider joining prior to registering. Membership is annual, renewable in January of each year, which is just around the corner. Should you join ISB before registering in 2017 your membership will be active until January 2018.

Association members derive many rewards and benefits from their membership including a reduction in the ISB2017 registration fees, eligibility to for awards and grants.

Koala Challenge

In excess of 5000 koalas have been distributed throughout Canada, Japan, Chile, North America and parts of Europe. Early in the New Year we will be loading all entries into the ISB 2017 APP for a Peoples Choice Award.

Email your image of the ISB 2017 Koala Mascot, to and go into the draw to win a complimentary full delegate registration including the Congress dinner and five night's accommodation at a fabulous Congress hotel NEXT.

Total prize value $3,000.

To enter simply photograph your koala (pictured here) in a fun, creative or exotic/interesting location and email it together with the following details by 31 March 2017.

Each entry must include:

  • A photograph
  • Name of the location
  • Brief caption, and
  • Name, address, phone number and email address of entrant (you can do this by registering your expression of interest).
